The 10-Minute Creative Warm-Up for When You Don’t Feel Inspired
Share
If you’re waiting to feel inspired before you make art, you’ll spend a lot of weekends stuck in the doorway.
“Inspiration” is unreliable. A simple warm-up isn’t.
Try this 10-minute creative warm-up—no pressure to make anything good:
- 2 minutes: Put on one song. Breathe slower than the beat.
- 3 minutes: Make ugly marks on purpose (scribbles, blobs, rough brush strokes, nonsense sentences).
- 3 minutes: Choose one tiny thing to refine (one line, one color relationship, one shape, one phrase).
- 2 minutes: Stop on purpose. Leave a breadcrumb for later.
The goal isn’t a finished piece. The goal is to re-open the channel.
If you try it today, tell me: are you creating with paint, digital, clay, or words?
